Construct

Traditional Techniques

At Longnor Heritage, construction is where everything comes together. Plans, consents and intentions only matter if they’re delivered properly on site — and that’s where we focus, working closely with architects, conservation specialists and surveyors to make sure approved repair strategies are carried through without compromise.

Working on historic buildings isn’t just about building — it’s about judgement. We use the right materials, the right methods, and the right approach for each structure, respecting what’s already there while carrying out the work needed to keep it sound and usable.

By delivering approved details accurately and with care, we ensure repairs are protected and new work sits comfortably within the existing fabric. The result is construction that feels right, performs properly, and supports the building for the long term.

  • Accurate Delivery: Approved details are executed precisely on site, with no drift from drawings or intent.

  • Respectful Construction: Traditional methods and appropriate materials are used to work with the building, not against it.

  • Integrated Results: New work blends seamlessly with historic fabric, supporting both performance and character.

We restored the roof and tower of Hindlip Parish Church with a focus on structural stability and long-term resilience. By renewing failing coverings and repairing weathered masonry with traditional lime mortar, we ensured the building remains weather-tight while preserving its historic presence.

This heritage-listed barn  conversion balances historic preservation with sustainable modern living. We stabilized the roof, renewed failing coverings, and repaired weathered masonry using traditional lime mortar and breathable materials to protect the original fabric.

Georgian Refurb

This sensitive refurb prioritised original fabric retention, using authentic Staffordshire bricks and reclaimed roof tiles to preserve the barn’s heritage. We cleaned and conserved substantial timber beams, utilising a "minimal intervention" approach to protect the building's natural patina.
